How to start an offer
Learn how to start drafting an offer using Jointly.

There are a few ways to start drafting an offer with Jointly. You can start drafting an offer from:

Drafting an offer from an Offer Portal page

There are two ways in which you might access an Offer Portal for a listing:

  1. With an Offer Portal link

  2. Through the Property Finder

1. From the Offer Portal page, click Start Offer.

2. Next, you can choose to draft this offer for an existing client or you can add a new client. Learn how to add a new client to Jointly.

3. If you want to draft the offer for an existing client, you can select a client from the list shown and skip to this step. To add a new client, follow these instructions.


Drafting an offer from the Deals page

1. From the Deals page, click Start Offer in the top right corner.

2. Next, search for the property you'd like to submit an offer on. Select the MLS where the property is located and enter the property's MLS number. You'll see a green checkmark once Jointly has verified the MLS number. Press Next.

Note: If the property isn't listed on the MLS, click "Click here if the property is not listed on the MLS." From there, enter the property address and if the seller is being represented by an agent. You can also select an MLS to pull prior listing data from, if applicable. Press Next.

3. If you want to draft the offer for an existing client, you can select a client from the list shown and skip to this step. To add a new client, follow these instructions.


Drafting an offer from a Buyer Overview page

1. From the Buyer Overview page, click Start Offer at the bottom of the page.

2. Next, search for the property you'd like to submit an offer on. Select the MLS where the property is located and enter the property's MLS number. You'll see a green checkmark once Jointly has verified the MLS number. Press Next.

Note: If the property isn't listed on the MLS, click "Click here if the property is not listed on the MLS." From there, enter the property address and if the seller is being represented by an agent. You can also select an MLS to pull prior listing data from, if applicable. Press Next.

3. Next, Jointly will automatically gather the contract forms needed to complete the offer and pre-fill the forms with data provided by you, the MLS, and the listing agent (if applicable). Don’t worry, you can overwrite the pre-populated data at any time while drafting the offer.

4. You'll then be redirected to your Offer page. Here you’ll see the offer forms that need to be completed.

When adding a new client:

4. To add a new client, select Add new client.

5. Enter your client's information including name, email, and phone (optional). If you have another client that is a part of this transaction, click Add client and enter their information.

6. Choose how you'd like to refer to your client within Jointly. This name will be visible to you, your client, and cooperating agents. Press Continue.

Note: This name is how your client’s deal will be referred to within Jointly. This name will be visible to you, your client, and cooperating agents. We suggest using your client’s last name(s). For example, “The Smiths,” “Smith,” or “Smith / Wilson.”

7. Confirm the property type. Jointly will automatically recognize the property type so you’ll just need to confirm. Press Continue.

8. Next, Jointly will automatically gather the contract forms needed to complete the offer and pre-fill the forms with data provided by you, the MLS, and the listing agent (if applicable). Don’t worry, you can overwrite the pre-populated data at any time while drafting the offer.

When using an existing client:

7. Confirm the property type. Jointly will automatically recognize the property type so you’ll just need to confirm. Press Continue.

8. Next, Jointly will automatically gather the contract forms needed to complete the offer and pre-fill the forms with data provided by you, the MLS, and the listing agent (if applicable). Don’t worry, you can overwrite the pre-populated data at any time while drafting the offer.

9. You'll then be redirected to your Offer page. Here you’ll see the offer forms that need to be completed.
