This is for the agent, checking whether a participant on the deal was notified.
How do I check whether my client was notified?
There are two places to look, and they do not tell you the same thing:
The participant's notification history — everything sent to one person, and whether they opened it.
The Activity Feed — everything that has happened on the deal, in one list. It shows what was sent, but not whether it was opened.
So if the question is "did they read it?", use the participant's history.
From the participant
Click the participant's icon in the Participants section. That opens their notification history.
If the email is in that history, it was sent.
From the Activity Feed
Click the Activity Feed icon at the top right to open the feed. A dot on the icon means there is activity you have not looked at yet.
Use the category filter to narrow it down — All Activity Types, Drafting & Signing Documents, Compliance & Commissions, or Other.
The Activity Feed is available on Pro and Business. On other plans, clicking the icon offers you an upgrade instead of opening the feed.
How do I know if they opened it?
Open the participant's notification history — this is the only place that shows it. Double checkmarks next to a notification mean the recipient opened it. Click any notification to see its details.
The Activity Feed does not show this — it tells you a notification went out, not whether it was read.
Why does the preview look different from the real email?
The notification preview is a simplified version of the notification that was sent. It is there to show you what the message was about, not to reproduce it exactly.
Nothing has been sent yet
You can send one by sending a message.
If you have sent one and your client still says they have not received it, see My client is not receiving emails.
This person gets notifications but is never asked to sign
The Participants section holds two kinds of people: those who need to sign, and those who are only following along.
Observers receive notifications but cannot sign documents. So if someone is being notified and never asked to sign, check how they were added — anyone who needs to sign has to be added as an additional signer, not as an observer.
