How to fill out a form for your client from View As

Fill in a form your client has to complete, such as the T-47 or the On-Site Sewer form, by assigning it to them and opening it from their name next to View As. Your client still signs it. The Seller's Disclosure Notice can only be completed by the seller.

Who can do this

You can do this if you are the agent on the deal or you work on the deal for the agent, for example as their transaction coordinator. The form must be one your client completes, and it must already be in the deal's Tasks tab.

Which forms can I fill out for my client?

Some forms that your client completes can also be filled in by you from their view. For example:

  • T-47 Residential Real Property Affidavit and T-47.1

  • Information About On-Site Sewer Facility

Some forms, such as the Seller's Disclosure Notice, cannot be filled out for your client. Only your client can complete them, from their own login. That includes completing them from View As.

If you open a form from your client's name and cannot type in it, only your client can complete that form.

How do I edit or fill out a form for my client?

You fill it out from your client's view, after the form has been assigned to them.

  1. In the Tasks tab, find the form under the Ready to Assign to heading for your client's role, for example Ready to Assign to Sellers or Ready to Assign to Landlords. Click Assign, at the right of that heading. When you are asked whether to notify your client, choose No if you don't want them to receive it yet. See Assigning and Submitting Tasks for the assign options.

  2. The form moves to the Waiting on heading for your client's role, for example Waiting on Sellers or Waiting on Landlords, and your client's name appears next to View As, with a number showing how many tasks they have pending. Click your client's name.

  3. In your client's task list, click the form.

  4. Fill in each section listed on the left and click Save. If some required fields are still empty, the form will not save until you complete them.

  5. When you're ready for your client to review and sign it, click Remind, at the right of that Waiting on heading.

Why can't I edit the form before I assign it?

Until the form is assigned, you only see it from your own view, where it has no fields you can fill in. Your client's name may not even appear next to View As yet. Assign the form first, then click your client's name next to View As and open it from there.

Will my client receive the form when I assign it?

Only if you choose to notify them. If you choose No, they don't get an email. However, the form will still appear in their Tasks tab if they log in to Jointly.

Does my client still need to sign?

Yes. Filling out the form for your client does not sign it for them. Your client still has to open the form and sign it.

What if I am both the agent and the client?

You still need to assign the form first. Once it is assigned to you as the client, you fill it out and sign it yourself.

I sent the form to my client by mistake. Can I take it back?

The email cannot be recalled, but you can return the form to draft. Hover over the task and click the Edit (pencil) icon. Only the agent can do this; your client cannot.

See Task and Document Flow for what editing does to signatures already collected.
