How to add an additional client to a deal or offer

Learn how to add a new client to a deal or offer.

When you’re managing transactions in Jointly, you may need to add an additional client to an existing deal or offer. To do so, follow these instructions for adding an additional:

How to add an additional client to an existing deal

1. Navigate to the deal

2. From the Listing or Buyer Overview page, under the Participants section, click the “Add Participant” icon

3. A new “Add Participant” window will appear. From the dropdown, select the role of the participant you’d like to add. Learn more about the different roles.

4. Press Next.

5. Enter the participant’s information including first name, last name, email, and phone number. Press Next.

If you haven’t sent any documents to your client, the new client will be added to the deal. If you’ve already sent documents to your client, follow these instructions.

If documents have already been sent to the existing client:

If you’ve already sent documents to an existing client, you will be asked if you’d like Jointly to reset these documents so you can resend them to your clients.

If you select “yes,” Jointly will clear the signatures from any documents you’ve already sent to your client, then the documents will be reassigned to you. Once the documents are reassigned, you can review the documents and resend them to your clients so they can both sign.

If you select “no,” you will need to manually edit the documents to add any signature and/or initial fields for the new client using the document editor.

How to add an additional buyer to an existing offer

1. Navigate to the offer

2. From the Offer page, under the Participants section, click the “Add Participant” icon

3. A new “Add Participant” window will appear. From the dropdown, select the role of the participant you’d like to add. Learn more about the different roles.

4. Press Next.

5. Enter the participant’s information including first name, last name, email, and phone number. Press Next.

6. For offers that have been signed or submitted, follow these instructions.

7. For offers that have been executed or terminated, follow these instructions.

If offer documents have already been signed by the existing buyer or the offer has already been submitted:

Note: This includes offers with a status of “Submitted,” “Presented,” “Accepting,” “Rescinded,” or “Rejected.”

If your existing buyer has already signed the offer documents or the offer has already been submitted to the listing agent, you will be asked if you’d like Jointly to reset these documents so you can resend them to both of your clients to sign.

If the offer has been executed or terminated, you will need to contact support to finish adding the additional buyer. Click the “contact support” hyperlink so you can send a message to notify our support team.
